Solar-powered irrigation packages
An irrigation package is offered with a panel array chosen according to pump power, an irrigation inverter and a control panel. The catalog lists packages for 3-phase / 400 V pumps such as 10 HP (7.5 kW), 100 HP (75 kW) and 125 HP (90 kW). When solar irradiation is high, the pump delivers more water; in cloudy weather the flow rate drops.
Who is it suitable for?
- Greenhouse, citrus and vegetable growers
- Landowners where the electricity grid is far away or expensive
- Businesses that use a well or tank as a water source
Selection criteria
- Pump power: The HP/kW value of the existing pump must match the package capacity.
- Flow rate and head: Well depth and the required pressure determine the panel power.
- Water storage: Tank volume matters for irrigation during hours without sun.
- Land: A shade-free, flat area is needed for the panel array.
In Antalya
The fact that irrigation demand peaks in the summer months, the same period when the sun is strongest, makes these packages practical. For detailed solutions, you can look at our irrigation systems page.
Points to note in design
The well's dynamic level, pipe diameter and irrigation method (drip, sprinkler) determine the pump load. Because the pump can draw high current at first start, the inverter is chosen to suit this situation. If the panel array is placed close to the pump, DC cable loss is reduced.
Pump speed adjustment can be used to prioritize irrigation and filling the water tank during sunny hours. If hybrid operation with grid electricity or a generator is needed, it should be stated at the start of the project. A fence or protection for animal and machine passage is also planned around the panel area.
Pump and well information (brand, power, depth, flow rate) is the most critical data in package selection. When this information is provided in full, correct sizing is done much faster; in uncertain cases, a field measurement is recommended.
