A solar power plant does not consist of only panels and an inverter; the mounting structure that fixes the panels to the roof or ground, the cables that carry the energy and the connection elements determine the safety and lifespan of the system. This category is grouped under two main headings.

Subcategories

• Solar infrastructure: Aluminum mounting structures for roofs and ground, flat-ground vertical systems, and fasteners such as screws, nuts and anchors.
• Solar connection equipment: Solar cables, MC4-type connectors, battery and inverter connection sets, and auxiliary products such as EPDM tape.

Selection criteria

• Roof type: tile, trapezoidal sheet, standing seam, sandwich panel or flat ground
• Match between panel size and quantity and profile length
• Suitability for regional wind and snow loads
• Cable cross-section, length and current-carrying capacity
• Connector type: compatibility with panel and inverter inputs

Near the coast, humidity and salt corrosion, wind loads and strong UV radiation determine material selection. This is why aluminum and galvanized parts are preferred in these conditions.

Quality and compatibility

The wrong choice of connection elements that seem small can affect the safety of the entire system. For this reason, equipment is specified together with the panels and inverter on a single project drawing and checked item by item before installation.

Leaving an allowance for spare fasteners and consumables when preparing the equipment list prevents work from stopping on site because of missing parts. Special parts depending on the roof type (hooks, tape, fittings) are noted separately at the start of the project. Materials must be stored dry and safe.

Buying all the equipment from a single supplier simplifies compatibility and warranty processes. The torque wrench and measuring instruments used during installation are also part of quality control.
