What is solar infrastructure?
Solar infrastructure refers to the entire support system to which the panel is fixed. Profiles connected to the roof or ground, legs, hooks, clamps and the small connection elements that join them are in this group. The right infrastructure keeps the panel in place against wind, snow and temperature changes.
Category contents
- Aluminum mounting structure: Tile, trapezoidal-sandwich, standing seam and flat roof (tilted) systems.
- Flat-ground vertical: Zinc-coated galvanized vertical ground systems for 12, 18 and 24 panels.
- Fasteners: Small mounting parts such as rectangular nuts, anchor screws and M8 screws.
Selection criteria
- Roof or ground type: A system suited to the roof covering should be chosen.
- Panel size: The profile spacing and clamp width must be compatible with the panel frame.
- Material: Aluminum is light and corrosion resistant; galvanized steel is common in ground systems.
- Loads: Wind and snow load must be calculated according to the region.
Antalya conditions
Salty air and strong wind on the coast make the quality of the connection elements important. Roof waterproofing also requires attention, especially on trapezoidal and tile roofs.
Installation and inspection
In infrastructure installation, the rail lines are marked first, then the hooks or legs are fixed and the panels are placed last. After installation, all bolt torques, grounding continuity and waterproofing points are checked; this check is repeated at the annual maintenance visit.
In ground systems, the foundation type (pile, concrete or screw) is determined according to the soil survey; in roof systems, the adequacy of the load-bearing element is confirmed with a structural assessment. The galvanized or anodized coating of the parts makes a difference in appearance and durability over the years.
The right choice of infrastructure material reduces the need for maintenance even years later. Especially in windy terrain and coastal regions, it is preferred for connection elements to be stainless or galvanized.
