What is the black 10 mm² solar cable used for?
Solar DC cable carries energy from the panels to the inverter or charge controller. The black color is for the black (negative) line; it is used as a pair with the red cable so the lines are not mixed up. The 10 mm² cross-section is preferred for long-distance DC main lines and high-current connections.
According to the supplier, the cable has a double-insulated, tinned fine multi-strand conductor (IEC 60228); the maximum PV system voltage is 1.8 kV and the test voltage is 6/10 kV. Ozone and UV resistance have been tested according to standards.
In Antalya, the temperature on the roof surface rises and sunlight is intense; UV-resistant cable is therefore important. Solar Nexo selects the cross-section according to the line length.
