What is the MC4 connector set for?
Solar connectors carry current between cables and connect panels to one another. This set contains one female and one male connector; according to the values in the product name, IP68 protection and a 1500V level are targeted.
Because the lock system can only be opened with a special assembly tool, the risk of cable pulling or unwanted disconnection is reduced. The supplier states that it is designed with MC-Multiam technology and that long-term durability has been tested. On hot and dusty roofs in Antalya, a sealed connector is important; crimping and installation are carried out by the Solar Nexo team.
The most common failures in connectors are insufficient crimping and mismatched pairing between different brands. It is therefore necessary to use the female and male ends from the same series together, to use a crimping tool suited to the cable cross-section and to carry out a pull test after installation.
