Solar connectors
Connectors join panel cables to each other and to the inverter input safely. The catalog includes the SMC4-MC4 female-male connector set, the SMC4-BRANCH Y connection set and the IP68 1500 V female-male connector set. Y branch connectors are used to connect panel strings in parallel.
Selection criteria
- Cable cross-section compatibility: The connector must suit a 4, 6 or 10 mm cable diameter.
- Voltage and current: For 1500 V systems, the connector's rating must be checked.
- Brand compatibility: Connectors from different manufacturers should not be forced together; incompatibility can lead to heating.
- Protection class: IP68 provides high protection against dust and water.
Installation notes
- Crimping must be done with a tool suited to the cable.
- Connectors must not be left on the ground or in puddles.
- Connections should be checked with a thermal camera or by measurement after installation.
