Where is the Y branch connector used?
The Y connector is used to join two panels or two strings in parallel; it combines the currents while bringing out a single line to the main cable. The set includes female and male connectors.
According to the supplier's data, the pin socket diameter is 4 mm and the cable cross-section can be 2.5, 6 or 10 mm²; the contact material is silver-plated copper. The insulating material is PC/AC and the outer material is PPO. The pull-out force is at least 50 N and the operating temperature is between -40 and +85°C. The product has a 24-month warranty. In the summer heat of Antalya, the connector must be locked and fully seated; Solar Nexo performs this check during installation.
The most common failures in connectors are insufficient crimping and mismatched pairing between different brands. It is therefore necessary to use the female and male ends from the same series together, to use a crimping tool suited to the cable cross-section and to carry out a pull test after installation.
