Technical values of the SMC4-MC4 connector
The connector carries the current in the panel string between cables. The rated impulse voltage is given as 8000 V and the rated insulation voltage as 6000 V. The plug connector contact resistance is at most 5 mΩ.
The pin socket diameter is 4 mm and the contact material is silver-plated copper. The lock system is of the snap-in type and can only be opened with a special assembly tool. Because of the high temperatures on roofs in Antalya, a low-resistance, locked and sealed connection becomes critical. The most common failures in connectors are insufficient crimping and mismatched pairing between different brands.
