Why is monitoring important?
Once a solar energy system is installed, monitoring its production, consumption and possible faults is part of efficient operation. Communication and monitoring devices collect data, send it to a cloud platform and, when needed, limit interaction with the grid. The catalog includes products such as the smart controller, smart meter accessories, the export power limiter CT and the heat pump controller box.
Device groups
- Data loggers and communication modules: Allow the inverter to be viewed remotely over Wi-Fi or the network.
- Smart meter and CT: Measures the power the building draws from or feeds into the grid.
- Export power limiter: Used to limit the energy fed into the grid.
- Controllers: Manage devices such as heat pumps together with the system.
Selection criteria
- The device's compatibility with the inverter series
- Single-phase or three-phase measurement requirement
- Site conditions with or without an internet connection
- The monitoring app or portal to be used
Antalya context
For systems installed across multiple buildings or plots, monitoring from a single screen is a great advantage. In seasonally used homes, remote tracking helps problems get noticed early.
Data security and connectivity
Because monitoring devices send data over the internet, the network password and user permissions should be managed regularly. At sites without an internet connection, GSM-based modules or local network solutions can be considered.
Monitoring data is the basic source for tracking the performance ratio and for fault notifications. When used together with meter data, the total consumption of the home or business and the share covered by solar can be seen separately. In facilities with multiple inverters, data gathered in a single portal makes the operations team's job easier.
System monitoring data is also valuable for maintenance planning: a string showing a drop in production can be a sign of dirty panels or a loose connector. This way, action can be taken before a fault grows.
